GHS Data Management Selected for Inc. 5000 List

09/06/2007

AUGUSTA, Maine, September 6 – GHS Data Management has been selected as one of the 5,000 fastest growing, privately held American companies by Inc. Magazine. GHS is a healthcare management company with offices in Augusta, Maine and Des Moines, Iowa that specializes in helping its clients save on their prescription drug costs using a variety of innovative practices.

“We are honored to be selected by Inc. Magazine,” said GHS’ CEO, Jim Clair. “Our placement on the list validates what we are building here at GHS: a company committed to ‘growing smartly’ by providing sound pharmacy and other healthcare value-added services to our clients. The core of who we are is reflected in the more than 150 GHS employees who work in our “integrated clinical teams” - - doctors, pharmacists, nurses, data analysts, developers, technicians and others - - working with our clients to achieve important health outcomes. We look forward to creating more quality jobs as we continue to grow.”

GHS Data Management has been in business for over three decades. Among its core healthcare offerings are on-line, real-time pharmacy claims adjudication, focused clinical pharmacy services (including preferred drug list management and supplemental rebate negotiations), prior authorization, drug utilization and rebate management, prescription drug monitoring programs, electronic data capture, healthcare assessments and data center services. GHS has state clients in Colorado, Iowa, Maine, Utah and Vermont.

The 5,000 companies chosen by Inc. Magazine are America’s elite, a tiny fraction of the approximately 7 million companies that have employees. This is the first published list that identifies and profiles the 5,000 fastest growing companies in America. The 5,000 companies were ranked according to percentage of revenue growth between 2003 and 2006. GHS ranked #3,918 with a three-year growth rate of 65.5 percent.

GHS Announces Changes to Management Structure

02/21/2007

AUGUSTA, Maine, February 21 – GHS Data Management, a healthcare management company with offices in Augusta, Maine, and Des Moines, Iowa, announced this week that James A. Clair has been named Chief Executive Officer. John Grotton, R.Ph., who has worked in various management capacities at GHS since 1998, has been named Executive Vice President for Pharmacy Services.

“GHS has experienced significant growth over the last few years. This change allows Jim to use his management, business development and financial skills to run the company, while allowing John to focus on the company’s growing pharmacy operations” said Vickie Waldron Mulkern, President of GHS Data Management.

Clair has been with GHS since 2001, having most recently served as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to that he spent nearly 18 years working on the non-partisan staff at the Maine State House, including stints as the Executive Director of the Legislative Council and Director of the Office of Fiscal and Program Review.

“There are a lot of important things happening at GHS. By way of example, we have been successful in working with our clients to aggressively manage their prescription benefit costs. We will continue to focus on the bottom-line for our clients, while rolling out our pharmacy cost-containment model to new clients as well,” said Jim Clair, the new CEO. “We are also refining our program integrity and data center functions to further assist our Medicaid clients. We are a smaller company in our market space, which allows us to be completely oriented toward the needs of our clients.”

“On a personal level, it is a privilege to work with such a great staff here at GHS and to partner with such innovative public and private sector clients,” Clair said.

GHS also announced the hiring of Dr. Laureen Biczak, who will serve as Associate Medical Director. Most recently the Medical Director for the State of Maine’s MaineCare (Medicaid) program, she will work with Dr. Tim Clifford and the rest of GHS’ clinical pharmacy team.
