Data Capture & Forms Processing

As technology has become more and more sophisticated, some providers have eliminated or reduced in-house data entry because it is no longer cost-effective. GHS can save your company time and money. We can provide rapid turnaround of your raw data - forms processing, reports, and heads-down data entry services.

The GHS data capture department has 20 stations operating per shift, with operators averaging over 15,000 keystrokes per hour each. We have the capacity to run shifts around the clock to meet even the tightest deadlines. We guarantee an error rate of less than 1%, with 100% verification. When your job is complete, we can generate nine-track tape reels, diskettes, CDs, or transfer data directly into your system via modem or the Internet. We perform a daily backup of all information entered into our system and store it for 30 days, to ensure that nothing is lost during capture. We also offer off-line storage of data for archiving purposes.

GHS is one of the largest data capture facilities in the northeast, and the leader in Maine, serving state and local agencies, pharmacies, medical associations, HMOs, hospitals, and private corporations

Data Processing & Analysis

GHS is a leader in government and health care data processing. Our services include drug utilization management and pharmacy benefit management with on-line, real-time claims adjudication. We also offer standard, as well as ad hoc reports, a 24-hour help desk, and technical assistance and training.

Over the past 3 decades, GHS has been an integral part of many customized conversion programs-moving from paper to electronic processing-helping clients with fast, easy transitions. The Low Cost Drugs for the Elderly or Disabled Program (DEL) and the Turberculosis Control Program are good examples of successful conversion programs.

Low Cost Drugs for the Elderly or Disabled Program

The Low Cost Drugs for the Elderly or Disabled Program (DEL) provides discounted prescription drugs to the elderly and to adults with disabilities who qualify for social security benefits. GHS designed the DEL system for the Maine Department of Human Services, to adjudicate all prescription claims for the state's elderly outpatient clients in real time, at the point of purchase. In this, and other customized prescription drug card programs, once a pharmaceutical claim reaches the GHS on-line system, the time it takes to adjudicate (check patient eligibility, provider eligibility, covered services, duplication, storage pricing, and payment) is less then 2 seconds. This process used to take several weeks.

The DEL system is managed entirely by GHS and includes dedicated hardware and software, a communications network, staff and facilities to support the program. The system also allows GHS to monitor fraud and duplication of medications, process payments with greater speed, and provide daily file updates to the Department of Human Services. The DEL system has resulted in substantial time and cost savings for the state.

GHS completed the conversion from hardcopy processing to on-line adjudication in the short span of only two months.

Tuberculosis Control Program

GHS has also been instrumental in enhancing the State of Maine's Tuberculosis Control Program through data management.

Our team worked closely with Maine's Bureau of Public Health to develop an on-line, real time adjudication process which also outlines the protocols and regimens for TB patients and monitors their compliance. The program has reduced medication delivery time from 5-7 days to approximately 24 hours, substantially minimizing a patient's period of infectiousness.

GHS forwards a monthly paycycle with reports of all paid and rejected claims to the Division of TB Control. A check register showing the amount of payment to each pharmacy is also forwarded, while GHS handles the remittance statements and payments to the pharmacies. In addition, GHS mails to providers notice of any changes to the system, as well as information from TB Control, and provides 24-hour help desk coverage and database maintenance.

Document & Image Archival

The amount of space you have in your office is a valuable commodity, especially for small companies in the midst of rapid growth. If you're competing with your filing cabinets for office space, GHS's archiving services may be just what your company needs.

GHS has made a significant financial investment in state-of-the-art technology to help businesses reduce, reorganize, and manage old files and reclaim office space. Optical compact discs are a legally recognized form of information archival, so you can save much needed space by scanning original documents and either housing them offsite or destroying them.

Our cutting edge software allows us to archive all types of data, including text documents, scanned images, spreadsheets, and CAD drawings. Information is indexed with multiple cross references for both text and graphics, so your information is easily accessed. We can design a data retrieval system that best fits the needs of your company, whether it's dialing into our system, setting up an Intranet for you, or storing the information in your office. Archived files can be password-protected or made available to multiple users simultaneously.
